Who we are
The national reference in the fodder economy
CNEF-CI SCOOPS brings together the players of the fodder economy to develop the production, processing and marketing of fodder seeds and products in Côte d’Ivoire.
Our mission — To build a strong fodder economy nationwide, so that every Ivorian livestock farmer can feed their animals in every season, with the ambition of becoming a reference in West Africa.
Our vision — A Côte d’Ivoire where no livestock farmer lacks fodder, thanks to a local, structured and profitable fodder sector.

The problem
Feeding animals is getting harder every year
In the past, farmers found grass around the village almost all year round. Today, open land is shrinking and the seasons are no longer the same.

01
Rainfall is decreasing
With climate change, it rains less and for shorter periods. The dry season is getting longer and grass disappears earlier.

02
Cities are expanding
The population is growing and cities are spreading: the areas where animals once grazed are now built up.

03
Pastures are becoming fields
Grazing land is being turned into cropland. Herders must go ever further, or keep their animals penned.

The impact on livestock farmers
- Animals that lose weight and fall ill
- Less milk, fewer births
- Animals sold cheaper, or too early
- Feed costs that soar in the dry season
The solution: stop depending on pasture. Grow fodder on a small area and store it, thanks to Maralfalfa, to feed your herd all year round.

A word from the President
“
Fodder is the first requirement for productive livestock farming. Yet every dry season, too many farmers see their animals lose weight for lack of available feed. At the same time, Côte d’Ivoire still imports a large share of the milk and meat it consumes.
CNEF-CI SCOOPS wants to help change this, step by step: produce quality fodder locally, make it available to livestock farmers in every region, and train those who wish to produce it themselves.
There can be no self-sufficiency in animal protein without a strong fodder economy. That is why we reach out to livestock farmers, public authorities and technical and financial partners: together, let us make fodder a pillar of our country’s food security.
